Brecht wrote Arturo Ui in 1941 while waiting for a visa to enter the USA. It parodies the series of events by which Hitler was allowed to come to power. It sounds the alarm against the complacency of believing that the events of that era could never be repeated at another time in another place. More details:

The Pre-Show Lobby Exhibition “Answering the Call: Resistance at Home” (curated by The Stand’s own Peter Garden and Don Kossick) will be open to the public from 12 noon to 8 pm and Post-Show Talkbacks with the director and cast will be scheduled during the 3 night run of this provocative staged reading.
