When we lift our voices together in song, we lift our spirits, too, and experience an unparalleled sense of connection with each other. No wonder singing has been part of many social movements!
We are going to get together once again before the Global Climate Strike on September 27, this time meeting at the Unitarian Centre, which is located at 213 2nd Street East (warning: work is being done on the road and it's likely that you will not be able to park on 2nd St. If you need to be closer than the side street--McPherson Ave--there are a few parking spaces at the back of the building, accessed by the alley).
If you haven't made it out to a practice yet, no worries! We'll be going over all the songs that we will be doing (and now you can find lyrics and some links on The Stand's website), using this link: https://www.thestandcentre.ca/protest_songs
All are welcome, even if you couldn’t make it to the first meeting! No prior singing experience or musical knowledge required. Players of guitars, banjos, ukuleles, etc. also very welcome!
We'll start at 7 pm as usual and probably be done by 8:30.
Don't forget a water bottle!
