Kids Books for Ghana

Hi!

I am thrilled to invite you to the Ghana library project fundraiser at Amigos Cantina on April 12th, 2025 from 5:30- 7:00 PM . We will raise funds and gather books for me to take with me to Ghana in the beginning of May!

Over the last year our fundraising efforts have been gaining momentum. As you know we have been working at raising funds to build a community library in Nwodua, a remote village in Northern Ghana. We built the  walls and roofed the building last summer and are now looking to complete the floors and add doors and windows. If all goes well the library building will be functional this year thanks to your generous donations, encouragement and support! We have also been collecting books to furnish the library with good reading material. Our mobile library project has been highly successful and we have about 200 children who get to borrow books from it 3 times per week. Through an ongoing research project, we are using the mobile library to teach kids about climate justice and I am excited to share more about the impact of this initiative on the 12th.
